Jerry Thomas
Winner—Best Living/Family/Rec Room, ProSource of Roanoke
Remodeler Jerry Thomas, a Member of ProSource of Roanoke, has a definite process that he uses when working with new client contacts. After getting a phone call from Dennis and Marilyn Cook, Jerry implemented that process - with stunning results.
His initial meeting with Dennis and Marilyn was spent listening to what they had in mind for their home. The Cooks had lived in their home for 15 years and were ready to remove the existing carpet. They wanted to install hardwood flooring and looked to Jerry for advice on design, manufacturers and materials.
When Jerry returned for a second visit, he brought several samples of hardwood flooring with him. Bruce's Fulton Strip Butterscotch perfectly matched the home’s existing hardwood. Even after a visit to ProSource of Roanoke to look at flooring options from other manufacturers, the Cooks decided that the Bruce floor was their winning choice.
Once a hardwood was decided upon, the Cooks considered Jerry's suggested design choices, ultimately settling on a herringbone pattern that required 780 separate custom-cut pieces of hardwood. Jerry then recommended Bruce Fulton Strip Cherry as a border to complement the overall floor pattern.
The Cooks appreciated Jerry’s design skills—and his approach to the project. Making the entire flooring process as pleasant as possible is Jerry’s goal for every client.
"It’s hard for people when they have their homes torn up for installation. I try to minimize the effect as much as I can." The Cooks appreciated his efforts. "We just think the world of Jerry," said Marilyn Cook. "He did a great job for us."

Thank you, Jerry
No, I thank you and all the other members. I am extremely honored and want to thank everyone for their time and good advice I am given here. It has helped me immensely when one is self taught. I also would like to recommend ProSource to everyone as a good source for floor coverings. My ProSource in Roanoke is top notch and very honest to deal with.
The wood is a Bruce, solid, square edge, prefinished that we install everyday. I am going back to put in a prefinished medallion this summer. I hope ol'Jerry don't screw that up.

Jerry, I add you to the list of people that I want to watch work.
........... as I sit and enjoy a few cups of java and a dozen donuts along with some conversation.
............. If something heavy needs to be moved... just ask, and I will set down the donut.
........ YOU, Jerry, are a special person to me, so it's no big deal..... just ask.
...............if it's really heavy, I will set down the donut AND the coffee to assist.
Seriously Jerry, I don't have the guts within me to attempt a job like that . Very, very nice work.
I also admire how you dealt with the customers on this one to make the job a total success and also let the customer see what a true 'floor pro" is. You make the flooring trade look like what it should be.
Congrats, Jerry.

Luckily I only have to shave about once a month, the hardest part is unfolding my 2' step ladder without scuffing up the vanity cabinet..... my wife gets on me for that
