I finished my beach cabin job

Here's some before pics......... I put it here, cause not all of it is work related.
( I was in to much of a hurry an didn't tke any after photos.......... so pretend it's all new and shiny with 3 coats of wax)
The place is 30 miles south of me........... and with the price of gas........... well......... I forced myself to stay down there for most of two weeks.

Re: I finished my beach cabin job

Any of you guys seen a sun pillar?
This was 3 times as prominent as I exited the grocery store.......... by the time I got back down to the cabin 5 minutes later it had diminished significantly....... still pretty cool. They don't happen very often here. It's caused by hexagonal ice crystals high up in the sky and causes the suns rays to focus in an upward shaft of light.
Last one is a long exposure after sunset. The cabin is 61 steps down from the road. Mercury vapor street lights come at night and leave an earie glow and forms shadows from a large tree and the roof tops above.

Re: I finished my beach cabin job

Thes crazy girls were playing and wading in that surf for 3 days.......... I mean IN the water for like 10 or 15 minutes at a time.......... Water is 50 degrees. This is wet suit territory kids, not Florida! Wish I had a megaphone so I could have franticly yelled SHARK ...SHARK! Hee hee......... I'm so mean.

Last one is a photographer hanging it up for the day. When the wind is low and tide is out, you see a few people out taking photos every night.

I have 2 more rolls of film exposed and two unfinished rolls still in the cameras....... have no clue what's there till I get em developed. I might share a little bit more in a week or so. This was one fantastic two weeks.

That's it kids............ all in a days work for a flooring Dude.
............... an how was your past two weeks?

Nice. Be nice to do a little surf fishing there. Looks like paradise.

Wow, what a view.
And they paid me for it............. a real win/win.
The view changes by the hour Don. All it takes is a change in the wind or in the cloud cover, and the ocean changes moods and color.

After the days work ends, picture me sittin' ouside on the deck drinkin a cold brewski listening to Don Imus on the radio with the roar of the crashing waves in the background............. my feet up on a stool.......... in peace like it is in heaven.

...............Then some tourist nut up above me at the motel messes up my evening bliss as she starts hand feeding sea gulls as if it's some kind of petting zoo. One gull heads for her balcony 4 stories above, and every other sea gull this side of the Rockie Mountains sees the free food handout going on and they circle right over my head for 10 minutes taking turns at this feeding frenzy going on up at her balcony.............. I have to duck inside so I don't get pooped on. (Better safe that sorry)

10 minutes pass, and it's safe to go back outside.......... the sun has long since set, and the stars are starting to pop out........... Venus shines brightly 30 degrees high to the west in the ever darkening colbalt blue sky........... I change the radio over to Michael Savage........... the evening is complete.

Lo Down the only thing I could see wrong living in a place like that is those steps. It looks really neat

Re: I finished my beach cabin job

Jon, they do have a shute along side the stairs with a rope and a basket......... it saves a lot of trips............ personally, I'd enlarge the basket and add an electric winch to it. People that rent it know not to bring the kichen sink when they come........ suitcase in one hand, and some groceries in the other.......... for the experienced, one trip could do it. For a floor installer............ 50 to 100 trips. Ouch!

I'd swear I've seen Laurel and Hardy deliver a piano up those stairs. Well almost
