Re: Using member names in posts
I would hope that our staff members would maintain the confidentiality of any discussion we have in the staff forums. I trust all of them. It was an unfortunate incident that someone discovering the password of one of our staff members and then using his account to move all the staff forum messages to the public areas. Those posts will forever be used to try to make us look bad. I don't doubt those messages were all saved or screen shot to be used at the twisted vandal's whim.
There has been nothing said or done in the staff forums that I am ashamed of. We use that forum to discuss the administration of this site. Sometimes it involves discussions about members. I'll guarantee you that the positive things said about members, or the results of discussions that show the exoneration of any member discussed will never be revealed because it would not be in the best interest of those who seek to embarrass or defame us.
Ray, the fact that you are a member and have all the privileges of any floorcovering professional is the result of any discussion there may have been about you. It would be folly for anyone to believe they would be liked by everyone. It should only be important that you are treated fairly and equally here at TheFloorPro.com. If you (or anyone) don't cause problems, you will have no problems.
Peter, this is a topic in the Website and Forum Support area, open for all to see. Even unregistered visitors can post in this forum (but their posts go through a moderation queue before becoming visible). The discussion should be about using member names on the site. We allow nick names. Not everyone agrees with that concept, but it is allowed and the real name of any member who does not reveal it themself, will be protected unless they pose a threat to the security of the site.
