Benefits from belonging to TFP
I just wanted to jot a post thanking the Admin here for providing this place for us to gather. I have had occasion to speak with quite a few of the members and have gotten an incredible amount of help, not only on line in the threads, but in personal telephone conversations and e mail correspondence. I am thankful to all I have had the privilege to speak with and hope I am able to develop new friendships and relationships with many more.
For those who haven't reached out one on one yet, do yourself a great favor and try it. I know you will be amazed as I have been about the lengths the people here will go to help others.
I thank you one and all (and yes, I mean Ray too ).
Peter

Heck no, I ain't leaving till they drag me out
I may be like Groucho: "I wouldn't belong to a club that would have me as a member.", but I made an exception for this place

Carefull with the use of the word "down" DJ......... some here could take it personaly.
Mega ditto's, DJ.
............. even when there are misunderstandings or other 'issues' between installers here............. we can always..... and most always, reconcile any differences here.
................ unlike the 'other places' which I will not mention.

Re: Benefits from belonging to TFP
I agree Peter. The other day I was at the gardenweb and someone requested info on a new type of flooring... after seeing no responses I suggested he/she might ALSO try this place for info on new products.
I got a very short, blunt and rather rude email from their administrate saying "if you ever spam this site again with your community you will be banned, the only reason you aren't already banned is because you are a valuable member".
Oh really... See what happens when I wander off?

Jerry,
If you ever spam this site again without posting the website address of that community ( GardenWeb - The Internet's Garden Community ), you will be banned. The only reason you aren't already banned is... is... uh, is - well, I'll think of a reason and get back to you.

Re: Benefits from belonging to TFP
In the past, I have seen some of those "other" flooring forums, and never wanted to join or become involved. Just too much "stuff" in there.
In the short time I have been here, it has become obvious to me that this forum is populated by true pros, who actually care about what we do for a living.
The advice and comments here, the humor , the knowledge and education.... all of it.
Thanks T, for all you do to make this possible!!
And it sounds like you are working hard to make it even better.

Re: Benefits from belonging to TFP
I've been banned a few times from the Do-It-Yourself-Forums but it's not what you would expect. Each time I was banned for what they refered to as "Moderator Bashing". I wasn't bashing anybody (even though some of them deserve to be run over by a train) but I was criticizing advice given by a moderator, I disagreed sometimes and was warned through a private PM that their Moderators were highly qualified......yada yada yada........! If I persisted in attacking them I would be banned.
Sure enough, I was banned the last time for disagreeing with a female tile store flunky (moderator) that had told a visitor to use muratic acid inside their home for something.
That place is owned by a sneaky low-life scumbag lawyer in New Jersey and is there strickly for the advertising hits the place generates. Stay cool PW, stay cool.
