Re: On the hour?
No, your slate job was absotootly be-youtious. In fact, I'm about to help you show that and more off real soon: http://www.thefloorpro.com/gallery/ You'll get an error message until it's ready for prime-time. That'll be just a few more minutes I hope.

Re: On the hour?
Nick Arrera: "Hee Hee .. I'm running 2 1/2 ghz processor with two gigs of ram on cable ..."
|
Do we need a special thread just for computer geeks?
Let me understand this!
Nick you have a 2-1/2 geezer-hurt processor and she giggles twice just before (or after) you RAM? I'm not understanding. Is having her tied to a cable legal in your state?
I have a '98 with a Window and it runs on Exxon kerosene. IE: low cost operation. as long as the wick holds up I'm fine. Pretty impressive stuff HUH?

Re: On the hour?
Now that the move is done, I don't know which is better???
Now it doesn't lock down on the hour, but every click. The page pops right up, but there is a lag, to get anything to work, and the hourglass pointer to disappear, so I can go click on the thread and then it too, takes about 10 to 15 seconds to wake up.

Re: On the hour?
Road Runner cable.
It locked up my browser tab (Netscape not responding) right after I typed the message above. Click on another tab I have open, and everything is fine.
It may be on my end, but other sites don't act like that.

Re: On the hour?
Since we are on a new server, your browser cache doesn't have a store of all the images and pages. That's because it sees it as a different site. Even though we are still www.TheFloorPro.com, etc., the actual IP is different, so your cache has to be built up again.
Even so, that should only take a couple of pages. I have visited the site from several other computers and as far away as a city almost a hundred miles from home yesterday. The site pages load fast and everything functions normally.
I did install that new Snap.com feature a day or so ago and it causes the individual forum links not to retain their visited states (should still be red when I come back to the page). But it's not considered a problem by anyone in the tech world that I've talked to, so I don't know how to make that work again without uninstalling that little applet. Members wanted a way to show videos, like YouTube, here on TFP, so now they can - and music and lots of other things - so I'd like to keep that feature if possible.

Re: On the hour?
I use IE7 too. Like it much better than FF or any other browser. My settings are:
Check for newer versions of the pages automatically.
Disk Space 80 MB
These temporary files are the first things I will delete if I have a problem. Sometimes that fixes the problem, sometimes it doesn't. At least it will eliminate a possibility.

Something had to have been tweaked overnight. It does not lag like yesterday or the day before or the day before.... Seems to pop right up and ready to work, like a good helper should. Hehehe
