I've had the same issues off and on for about two weeks - never thought to look at the clock tho. Sometimes things fly-by and other times it takes forever to load pages .

Re: On the hour?
Sorry. I have mentioned this before. Our illustrious hosts restart the database server almost every hour on the hour. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes to restart, so we get a database error message or a several minute long delay when that happens.
Today was even worse for database errors. I had a technician here trying to convert the blog data to a new product. That caused a number of database errors early this afternoon.
We will be moving to a new server soon. One that doesn't shut the place down 23 times a day. It's getting close. You'll see a notification a day or so in advance. If you miss it and get some Page Cannot Be Displayed errors for a day or 2, that's what's happening and we will be back online as quickly as possible.
In the mean time, my apologies for the problems. Please think of them as growing pains.

Re: On the hour?
It's still kind of unofficial, but we made the server move without a hitch. Of course, there are still many parts of the country and the world that have our old IP address in cache and those people can't reach us yet, but we are getting traffic. I wasn't able to get on until shortly before 10am Pacific Time. I turned the board on and we got visitors right away. Daniel Wachtel was the first one to post. Then Lo Down - now we're off to the races.
I will be closely monitoring for database errors. Haven't gotten any yet, but the traffic is still very low. We'll see as the day progresses. Please report any problems you have to me.

No way, man, you'll just have to try to keep up. Have another cup of coffee. That'll do it.

Re: On the hour?
Fast for you too, Nick? I was hoping it wasn't just me imagining things. And boy, all day and the only database error was because that dang Rob guy was messing around in the gallery. It's really nice not getting all those errors. Especially after 554 visitors today (I know, I didn't believe my eyes either).
Anyone notice the attachments that were used for the last year are all smaller now and link to a larger image - and they're all here too. We lost a bunch a while back in some old threads.
