Thank You, Jerry
Jerry,
This is certainly not meant to embarrass you, but I just had to say a public thank you for your latest donation. My whole life got turned upside-down a couple years ago when lung disease took my career away and my income took a nose-dive. I have been living on government assistance and a few donations from great guys like you. You have made things a little bit easier.
And it's not just me that benefits from your generosity. Not only have you donated a few dollars to me (and magically, when I need it the most), but you have also brought us a number of new members and donated tools for some of our contests. No one could have ever dreamed that the first registered member of The Floor Pro Community back in May 2006, could have also been a guy who has done so much to support this community in the ways you have.
Just so everyone knows (and I guess I am beyond being embarrassed to ask for help), Jerry has selflessly clicked on my donation button at the bottom of the page a few times (I don't remember the actual number). Several members here have done that over the nearly 2 years we've been here. The money does help support the website - we use a few hundred dollars worth of software that also has yearly renewals along with the server expenses and postage to mail out prizes. And yes, it also helps with my living expenses too - gas for my car, rent, utilities and all the other normal expenses. Every donation, no matter the size, is a huge help to me and this site.
I have not taken any advertising dollars yet, except the small amount I get (about $100.00 every 3 or 4 months) from the Google Adsense ads. No doubt you all have seen the other ads that run at the bottom of many of the pages. Those aren't paid ads, but I hope running them will encourage the vendors to donate prizes for our contests. Occasionally I get a paid gig - helping someone with their website - but those are far and few between.
So, thank you again, Jerry. And thanks to the others who have donated - and to those who may donate in the future. I just decided that I maybe should give a public thanks to donors (of course, I won't embarrass you if you tell me not to) and let you know how much I appreciate it.
My best to you and yours,
Jim
