You beat me to it, I was just coming here to give Jim an ear full.

On a side note, holy crap there are a lot of forums here. Been a while since I've come in through the front door I guess .

Re: You broke it

Yep, I done broked it. Sorry. Nick sent me a PM to tell me about it. Called me all kinds a dirty names, threatened to sue. Big oops. I try to do some of the more invasive work on the new style late at night when it will only mess with people like Jerry and Bill Watson. Last night I was working on the Search page, which meant having to switch it to the new design that no one has access to. I forgot to switch it off when I finally went to bed at 4:30am.

My apologies. Please tell Nicks lawyers to quit callin' me. I'll try not to totally screw things up again... 'cept for Jerry and Bill, a course.

Jim

Re: You broke it

Bud ain't gonna be happy no matter what.

I have been helping a DIY'er via PM's through this website. Here's how that goes now.

I get an email notification I have a PM here.

I open this site but my PM information is no longer at the top right of the first page. I do however receive THREE small box notifications that I have to close individually before I can go any further.
Now I have to scroll down to the bottom left.
Click on Personal Messages there, this activates the next page. Then I have to scroll up to the top right of that page to to pen my Personal Messages. Once I get there I then have to open the PM. Seems like a long way around from before but I'm probably missing something that is clearly there to make it simple.

That's all OK with me tho. I like screwin' around here.

Why don't you click the link to the PM area of your account that is in the email notice?

I open this site but my PM information is no longer at the top right of the first page. I do however receive THREE small box notifications that I have to close individually before I can go any further.
Are you sure there's 3 PM notification popups, or just one. I have received lots of PM notifications in email and, like you, have cruised to the site without clicking the notice's link and still only get one popup.
Now I have to scroll down to the bottom left.
Click on Personal Messages there, this activates the next page. Then I have to scroll up to the top right of that page to to pen my Personal Messages. Once I get there I then have to open the PM.
Why do you have to scroll anywhere. The popup has 2 buttons, OK and Cancel, along with text that says, "Click OK to view it, or Cancel to hide this prompt." You HAVE to click one of them (or the close X in the upper right corner) to get rid of the popup. If I want to look at the PM, I click OK. Then there's another popup that asks if you want the PM area to open in a new window, or in the current wondow - click OK to open a new window, which is what I do if I don't want to be taken away from what I am doing in the current window (like in the middle of typing a topic reply to my friend, the Budster). If I ain't doing anything special, I click the Cancel button and am taken directly to my Personal Message area. Yeah, ya gotta click the PM in your list that you wanna read. I can't do much about that.

But even if you do insist on scrolling to the welcome box and clicking the Personal Messages link, what is wrong with your browser that it doesn't open that page at the top? You shouldn't have to scroll anywhere. Just click the PM you want to read.

... I'm probably missing something...
Yeah, you are, but we won't go into that here. I'll send you a PM.

I think you're just bustin' my chops 'cause you got gas today - and I don't mean for your vehicle.

I will admit they get mad if you forget to bring the canollies to your appointment , they never had a case they couldn't settle out of court , and they have quirky nick names like Tony the Bat , and Joey Knuckles .. But isn't that what you want in a Lawyer ?
I told them to cut you some slack T .. of course i hid all the knives in case they misunderstood me ..
