Okay T

Nest time you're gonna remodel and move all the furniture...........tell us before we go out for a beer. I came back and thought I wandered into the wrong place.

Re: Okay T

Sorry, Dan. I posted about it for a while now and then a big notice went up yesterday. Hope you're finding your way around okay. It'll be tough for a few days because not everything is working right, but it'll happen.

Well, I think I stepped in the dog's bowl and spiled whatever was in it, then landed on........not sure what it was. Ya know, ya could have put one of your young neighbor friends where I landed LOL.

Begining to find my way around in the dark though. Only thing is......I have to change my browser's text size as to not have to scroll back and forth.

Hu? What size is your screen and resolution settings? I been real careful to make sure the site fits in a 1024x768 screen - same as the old style. I did increase the text size, but by only a very small smidgen.

Let me know. I wanna make sure this is right.

Re: Okay T

Resolution is set at 1024 x 768. Browser is IE....under view....text size......I previously had larger chosen. Now have to go to medium. Works here but the rest of the net is too small with this setting for these eyes.

Re: Okay T

Oh, I see. Yeah, unfortunately, too few web designers work at other than normal text sizes set on the browser. I have seen way too many websites with text so small I get a headache. I knew that many of our members and a lot of our visitors are older and our eyesight isn't what it used to be. So I increased the font size about a gnats hair - or 5 or 10 hairs - it's actually called 1.1em in designer's code, where 1em is normal. I'm still tweaking too. I notice some of the editors and forms have too small a text size. I use the Quick Reply most of the time, so I didn't realize the fancier message editors had such tiny type.

Medium in IE is the standard size and I'm glad to hear that it works pretty good for you here. Now, if we can just get all the other websites to go along...

Re: Okay T

You can set your Resolution back to larger Dan and do one of two things ..
1] download and run Firefox for this site ..
2] hit the CTRL and Minus keys to make the text smaller ..

Re: Okay T

I think he does essentially number 2, Nick. The View menu has a selection to change the text to larger or smaller than medium. I think that's what he was talking about, not that he had to change the size of his screen resolution.

Re: Okay T

I wondered off and got back about the same time Dan did. I don't see a 'New Post' button on this set up yet. Is there one there and I'm missing it?

I like the new look boss.

OK, I found it.

I thought that was asked too, but you guys are posting in a non-forum support forum and not in the topic I set up for these kinds of questions. It's okay though, I got the "move topic" button right here. Careful, this might hurt just a little...

Oh yeah, "forums button" - what th' heck is that. I don't think we ever had one a them. We got links though, lots a links. Is the navigation module on the left side of the forums home page and others not showing for you?

Jim
PS: Don't ferget ta click the images to see the cool new effect. No more going to a new window or tab when you click a picture that was uploaded. If you click the picture after it opens, it will take you to a new wondow or tab though. When you want to close the picture after it opens, click the X in the upper right corner, or click outside the frame of the picture.

Well....I'll give ya that one CP. My problem came when I centered the form to the screen and left the info on the left side off the screen. It's a new day though and I think everything is better now.
