Re: Disclaimer

Where should it have been posted? I wouldn't post it a DIY forum without Jim's consent. With all the differing opinions on asbestos, I just thought a disclaimer mght be a good idea.

This kind of topic would fall under the "Website and Forum Support" forum. Excellent idea too. I have added a disclaimer to an article or 3, but never got around to adding a site-wide disclaimer. I spoke to my former attorney about it shortly after starting the forum, but never got anything in writing. I need to and it's long over due.

Thanks, Rusty. But if you think this gets you off the #%^& List, you are sadly mistaken.

R'gards,

Jim

Rusty how does it feel to be at the top of the field and remember everything slides down hill not to the top.

Re: Disclaimer

I spoke with an attorney I used for my will and stuff a while back. When I reminded her we had discussed this a few years ago, she said she thought I received the TOS document she prepared, which includes a disclaimer. She gave me another copy. It's mostly a boilerplate document that has only been editied for its intended user, TFP. She said "no charge." She also said it won't prevent us from being sued or challenged in court, but it would have some weight in any proceedings. In other words, she gave me a disclaimer on the disclaimer.

It looks impressive anyway: The Floor Pro Community - Terms and Conditions

Re: Disclaimer

seems like a lot of reading couldn't ya just say "use at own risk" "not liable for death or injury" type thing?kinda like the warning label on a pack of smokes.or alcohol.how many people read those( i know ..none) then still light up? or pop a cold one? speaking of a cold one ...sounds good..mmm

Re: Disclaimer

Yeah, I know. But it's a legal document. A handshake used to work in our society. It doesn't anymore. A friendly warning doesn't either.
