Re: advisor?
That's kinda like they do at McDonalds. You know they give you a title instead of a raise.

Re: advisor?

There are currently 3 advisors. Those are people who have become valued to a staff member for their advice and suggestions to the point where it was felt they should be recognized for their dedication and support of the community.
It's similar to the contribution that financial support is. Some people have a different way of supporting TFP. Some do it with a few dollars, some do it by volunteering their ideas and guidance to some of the staff members to help us make the right decisions and keep us pointed in the right direction. There are also a few members who have contributed by authoring articles or how-tos. And still others volunteer their leadership as staff members.
I believe we all need as much help as we can get. The Floor Pro Community has been blessed with a lot of very dedicated professionals that support us all in their own way. Not everyone gets a badge and I prob'ly don't recognize everyone who has helped in the growth of TFP. There's a few people I have had some very shaky and even tumultuous relationships with here (and elsewhere) who are as much responsible for what TFP is today and continues to evolve into as anyone else. Although the relationship with those people isn't always a positive one, their influence on TFP has been as a whole.
Hope that helps,
Jim

Jim has been trying to work me into helping with the website, and he made me an "advisor" to push me along and get me helping. He wants assistance, I'm not going to refuse. Are you really bugged by it? Because if you are, that bugs me!

Re: advisor?
No, I enjoy helping any way I can. Just like to keep it fun. I have read every post made on TFP since day one. I have always considered it an honor that I was one of the first ones Jim asked to join here.

It means we have a key to the war room and are trusted like kinfolk.
........... that, or it's like Rusty says.
Kidding aside, I thank T for the honor of the badge. I help when I feel I can offer something constructive now and then. I also hope when I ask questions that in some way, others joining or observing the dialogue can learn something new. You've all seen my questions, and I will ask no matter how trivial it seems .................... I just gots to know sometimes, and I ain't afraid to ask one of those proverbial "dumb" questions.
If T had a PITA badge, I'd wear it proudly.............. but CP already has that badge, so I don't wanna take it away from him................ 'cause I'm a nice guy too.

I feel extremely priviledged to be a part of this select group, and hope I can be of some kind of assistance. Or at least be a firecracker under someone's behind.

Agreed. I do sleep all day on Sunday to make up for the week, though. I'm mainly serious about that!
