This discussion, "Tuscan Leveling System", in Tools, Equipment and Supplies (part of the category The Professional Forums), begins, "Yes it can.
EDIT contest points=53..."
That was the first place I used a few of them was on a shower wall with 16" tiles. I didn't know any better at the time and it seemed to me the place to put them was at a corner intersection. One implement for four corners. It wasn't until the next day that I worked up a sweat worrying that I may break a corner off of a tile while removing the little buggers. I ain't gonna do that again. I didn't break anything but have thought better of that procedure. Two per side is the way to go and well away from the corners I think.
I didn't work on that one, think it was in the biulding where coverings was held.
For anyone who's interested in this product, it won't be available for at least 2 more weeks, problem with the supplier of the spacers and pyramids, pricing was an issue also, new supplier soon making new molds, the guns ARE available now.
If anyone has any questions on this, feel free to ask.
Richie.

I'm glad this post has returned and it's really coincidental. I was just asking some guys at a Laticrete seminar if they'd heard of this system and I couldn't remember the name of it. I was just getting ready to go back to try and find it!
It looks really impressive, but, I also have a question. If one is bringing lower tiles up to higher ones, are you possibly creating any hollow spots in the process? If no, how come? I presume one is working from a fairly level spec. to start with.
The system does not create hollow spots on the tiles as long it used correctly and the mud consistency is right, TILEMAN, feel free to intervene. To tell you the truth i would nt install a marble job without them, and is not because I invented it, but because it work that well.
Hi Mick, some of us have been wondering what happened to you.
Tony I wouldn't be concerned about any voids if (as Mick says) the thinset consistency is correct. Once you plop that tile into place and bed it into the thinset the thinset has enough flexibility to allow you to lift a tile slightly using the mechanism and the thinset will expand with the tile movement. I had the same concerns but I have now used enough of those little Tuscan puppies to have great confidence in the method.
I love those suckers. A few months ago I used them on some 18" travertine and the job came out great.
The biggest problem I had with them overall (and Tileman had warned me about this) was when I allowed thinset to gob around the tab between the tiles. This happened several times and they got away from me. Later when I removed the caps the tabs broke off up at the surface of the tile (surface of the gob) rather than down below at the subfloor like they should have. It was then necessary to use my RotoZip with a tile bit to router-out between the tiles to remove the little tab. No big deal.
Once you get a feel for the thinset consistency that works best these things are easy and basically foolproof.
Ever plop a tile and then need to lift it to back out for some reason or another? That suction is pretty good, and I can lift it pretty far(relatively speaking) above the other tile, before it finally lets go.
If I was serious into tile, this would be one of those must have items. I'm sold and I have not seen it or used it, except pictures.
I have a large shower, soaking tub deck and a floor to start in about 2 weeks.
Several size tiles ranging from 3x6, 6x6, 12x12 and 18 x 18 with some kind of inserts. Also chair rails and listello's, seat and a niche. Oh yeah, 4x13 frieze's too.
All are a full bodied porcelain. Florida Tile (Lord help me), This one Tuscania Portfolio
Would these things be useful for a job like that? I got $11.32 just about to burn a hole in my pocket
