Re: Kneeless carpet stretcher

Looks like it would stretch 4 feet really tight.

Re: Kneeless carpet stretcher

I don't agree with use of only this tool. You need to stretch from wall to wall. Think of it as a replacement for a knee kicker not instead of a power stretcher. Keep kicking and take a licking. How much of a stretch does your knee kicker get - bet ya about 3' to 4'. Looks like maybe a good idea - maybe make it lighter? You need a power stretcher and a knee kicker. How about a power stretcher and a knessless stretcher? Don't do installation anymore - my knees hurt too easily. Crawling on ceramic tile, hardwood, vinyl, commercial direct glue carpet and knee kicker use took their toll.

The carpet installation and smoking video is a scream.
The tool, I wouldn't advocate using it...

Re: Kneeless carpet stretcher

I think the tool was actually deswigned to do about a 9x12. and work in a circle.
Maybe work good in a walkin closet, or small repairs.

Re: Kneeless carpet stretcher

I can see a use for this tool, not tor replace a power stretcher, but for the delusional group that thinks they can knee kick more stretch than a power stretcher. How does the story go, my entire body is off the ground when I kick the kicker, so there is no way a power stretcher can match that???

I could see myself buying this thing for closets, hallways, and even for seams. I have truely come to believe a knee kicker is not a tool to be used for stretching carpet, it is something you use to help put seams together and tuck carpet.

Re: Kneeless carpet stretcher

I tried a new guy from Oregon that moved here that had and used one. We were on a job and he did a 13x20 room with it. When I checked on him and the room, it wasn't tight enough as the carpet in spots was bubbled up off the strip. I can see using it for setting a wall but not for complete stretching. I think it is over priced for what it does, $305 on ebay new.
