Just a little note on the DeWalt tool bag I won here, thanks to Jerry!!!
I had to completely clean my side of the garage out, this Sunday and Monday because we were getting a new HVAC system(replacing circa 1981) With the heater and evaporator, in a closet at the back of the garage. I always kept a tight path to get back there, but at times you had to climb a mountain, to change the filter. I have never completely emptied that side, since we moved in and well, I'm a pack rat. 10 rolls of pad, and a dozen or so carpet roll balances, and brand new carpet I had pulled out of a house, to put wood in. Various cartons of wood flooring, and covebase. All my tools, and some car parts/cases of oil, heater, and just some junk I think I'll need some day.
Well, with it all out of the garage, it was time to build some stout shelving, to hold my tools and get shit off the floor and stacked on stuff, on stuff, on stuff. We had wood from the shelves I build every Valentines Day, for the big 52' refer cooler trailer we rent to store flowers to keep them fresh. So I swiped some wood! Don't tell the wife.
I used screws to put it all together. I have had one cordless drill before, but it wasn't a DeWalt and it wasn't 18 volts. I love this drill/driver. I always packed my extension cord, and my Skil drill. I whipped them shelves up by myself, in no time(4, 2'x8' shelves) I used the cordless trim gun as a helping hand!!!!!!!!!!!! Using 2x lumber and 2" trim nails, it was enough of a tack, to hold it while I fumbled with screws and getting leverage to drive. I would have needed someone to hold the other end, while I screwed, if I didn't have that sweet little gun. It don't work in Santos Mahogany, but pine, it blows through. Looking forward to using it more, and for what it was intended for.
Thanks, TFP and especially Jerry!!!
Now, if I could write up a positive review on the Senco cordless screw clip gun, but I can't. I had a contract to screw down the second floor of a home, as the place where they bought their installed carpet, wouldn't do it. Bought a tub of screws for the Senco, and charged the batteries up and I was excited to use it. I should fly through this and make some cheese!!!
Got there on time and rare'n to go. Whipped out the gun and loaed a clip and a battery. The homeowner follows me upstairs to show me the worst of the squeaks. I zap a couple of screws down that joist right in front of her and she comments, "that is neat", and give her some BS story about it and how it is such a time save, instead of fumbling with screws.
She leaves and I go to the corner of the room, to work my way across and not miss and skip any joists. I get 2 clips through the gun, and the battery lost its, umph.
Dang, that didn't last long, so I go get the other battery and place the drained one on the charger. The charger is suppoed to tell you if the battery is bad, right when you click it in. Grab the other battery and off I go. One clip and the battery is struggling??????? What the FU!!!!!!! Go grab, the DeWalt and a box of screws I had got, just incase, and it was a good thing.
So the Senco 14 Volt screw driver gun, is not what it is all cracked up to be. I wonder if it will run off a Senco 18 volt battery??? As I hear the 18 volt is 10 times better.
Anyone want a Senco?
