Re: Air power stretcher
I want one. I wonder if they would send me one for the FCI tool articles.

Re: Air power stretcher
Egads not only does it pull off the strip like a crab stretcher, it doesn't look like it moves the carpet much at all in any of the videos. He mentions the CRI spec in one of them but he is maybe getting a 1/4" in the demos. I can kick harder that that.
Other than a couple weeks ago when I had to fit a 11'10.25" piece of carpet in a room that was 12'1.5" wide (my 145 pound helper couldn't stretch it even with all his weight on he handle), I've never really found using a stretcher to be all that physical. I could stretch circles around the guy in the demo and I wouldn't even have the two foot gaps between stretches... That's not even including the extra time in backing up the strip to support it and trimming all the carpet to an optimal length for the machine.
Color me not impressed.

Re: Air power stretcher
I agree with Darren. It looks like a "piece-o".

Re: Air power stretcher
Darren, I heard he is working on an improved version that has twin humbuckers and a free patch cord on it You could be writing new songs while you're working

Re: Air power stretcher
If you watch closely, the carpet isn't stretched enough to stay hooked on the tackstrip.
And installers won't use a powerstretcher, because of the time to set it up, will never fork out the cash for that, where you heed to lug a compressor and have a fight with an air hose constantly.

Re: Air power stretcher
Saw the pics of it, but can't do the u-tube 'cause of my dinosaur computer.
I can't see something like that catching on.
