You could just throw it away everytime you needed a new blade.
As far as favorite tool, I'd be lost without my tape measure.

Re: What is your favorite tool to use?
Being an inspector i was going to write up camera and wouldn't you know it puked on me today at a site!!!!
An "advanced" point and shoot. Seems the zoom gears are plastic and they all break down after a while.
Had it 3 1/2 years so I got no complaints but now I'm agonizing if I should spend the bucks on a digital SLR. Figuring I'll need to spend about a thousand to get a decent one with a lens. Add in a large SD card and flash unit, I'll be up to 1200-1400 in no time. The option is to put out about 400 and now I'll be replacing it in 2-3 years...

Do yo have any slr's now. If so then your lenses will probably work.
The Canon Rebel Xti is problbly the best buy on the market right now (+- 650.00) if you hurry maybe CP can get you one at a discount. Memory cards are inexpensive on Ebay.
You could possibly have a set up for around 700
I have a canon 30 D and a canon kiss (japanese Xti)

Re: What is your favorite tool to use?
My SLR is so old it has a metal body. No plastic on the sucker at all. It is a Minolta and I will bring a couple lens with me to see if they fit the Canon.
Thanks for the input

They won't
I have 4 Minoltas, with lenses, flashes, powergrip, motordrives, ...the works. Nothing fits on or adapts to the canon.
Since minolta closed up shop I can't even seem to give them away.

Jerry, I knew there was a lot we had in common! That list you posted above is almost identical to mine. Only differences are I don't have a set of shears (don't need 'em with Ditra ), my undercut is the 820, and I have the Festool vac.
I'm glad to see somebody else uses an Airsled to move material around.
How do you like that 18V Makita? I need a lightweight trim saw....I'm gettin too old to tote my big Dewalt out for everything. I swear that one and my table saw gain 20lbs during the course of a day

Re: What is your favorite tool to use?
Hi Paul, that 18V Makita is a quality tool, very well made , precise cuts and its also a compound miter. My only issue with it is the blade rpm speed and having to cut much slower. But.... I believe it may be my batteries. I bought that as a bare tool item and took old batteries from a drill set I owned. I need to get a fresh new battery to see if that is the problem.

Re: What is your favorite tool to use?
I started buying the Hitachi brand tools a few years ago. I would rather buy American made tools, but I'm having a hard time finding something that will work as hard as the Hitachis. The 3/8" drill I have is the smallest electric drill I have owned, but it works as hard as any drill out there. I also have their 10" compound miter saw, and their reciprocating saw.

What? You can't fish until you retire??
A bad day of fishing or golfing still beats a good day of work.

I mean permanently. No cell phone, no estimates, no customers, no nothing. Except fish.

Re: What is your favorite tool to use?
I represent a wholesale distributor, so, if you ask me my favorite tool to sell, I would have a very comprehensive list, however, the most recent tool that I think every installer should have is a pair of Pro Knees. These will protect your knees while you work, and, if you have problem knees from being in the trade, it will give you a new lease on life. You cannot believe the feedback we get every time we sell a pair.
