This discussion, "What is your favorite tool to use?", in Tools, Equipment and Supplies (part of the category The Professional Forums), begins, "I was looking at some old pictures last night and a lot of them were of me or someone else ..."
I was looking at some old pictures last night and a lot of them were of me or someone else using tools. It brought back a lot of good memories and how much I enjoyed the tools I used regularly. One of my favorite tools was the jigsaw. I used it a lot in my work (click any picture for a better view):
I used it in my hobbies:
And I enjoyed teaching others the fine points of... the really fine points of proper jigsaw use:
Of course, I like a lot of different tools, but the jigsaw was always one of my favorites. How 'bout you? What tool is one of your favorites?
My favorite tool has always been the new one I just bought.
Besides that, I've always enjoyed the table saw and drill press the best, though all tools are fun. I can't seem to get enough. Kind of like fishing poles.
Have to agree with Don on the Paslode finish nailer. I have the first generation. Learned how to take it apart and clean it myself. A lot cheaper that way too.
actually I liked the "click for a better view" tool. I did and the view got better. and then went to print preview and it got better yet. She has a tattoo did anyone but me notice?
I'm sitting here and taking a mental inventory of all my tools and can't really come up with a favorite. It all depends on the job and what is needed at the time.
There sure is a boat load I'd like to have though. Miter saw, table saw, just to name a couple.

Like Darol usually the latest, none really standout as the single favorite, i guess it would depend on what im doing. My favriote pair of dividers are the Armstrong though.
Of the "trade tools", I think it's my KoolGlde Pro.
I love that thing.
I guess it's because it's so different from what I used for so long in the past, and does the job so well.
Not right for everything... but what tool is.
Otherwise, like several others here, it would be the last one I bought.

Mine is a 6' ultra light boron rod with a small ultra light reel loaded with 4 pound polymer line. BTW last week I was using this tool and caught a 24" rainbow trout. The largest one I have ever caught. Retired is a rough job.
Wow! That's a real nice one Tandy. Congratulations. What a beauty. Wouldn't it be nice if we could write these kinds of tools off come tax time. For some of us, it would be quite a deductible. Not that we need additional incentive to buy more gear.
I guess my favorite tool would have to be my Thermos .. I put hot coffee in it and it stays hot all day , I put Ice tea in it and it stays cold all day ..
How do it Know ?
