Thermo Plastic Seam Sealer Tools

I am currently using the peak buster for sealing my seams.
I understand that there is another gun out there that does the same thing.

I have noticed that from watching various videos on the internet that the installers seem to be holding their gun at a pretty good angle, but they are using a different gun then I have, mine, I have to pretty much have it square to get a uniform, non "globby" seal.

However, I do have my fair share of difficulty at the end of my seams since you can only use the gun from one dirrection and having to hold it straight the inside doors get in my way, particularly when I am sealing the edge not for seaming but for tucking in the gully of ceramic or wood.

Are the other types of guns any different?

It is not the gun but the tip that makes how you hold it. Gundlach also makes tips for thermo sealing they have 3, one for right hand, one for left hand and then one for right hand attached backing. I have them both but still like the orcon better.

I also have both and prefer the Orcon tip. But it is also the first one I had. Now if you also have the newer Orcon gun kind of check out the bottom of the handle, if you keep that almost parrarell with the edge you are good to go, then it is a case if the tilt up and down you work on. If getting glue in the yarn tilt it more toward the floor.
The Gundlach tip susposedly you can stand up and do it. Also it is a pull action with that. It is designed to channel any excess thermo to the back of the carpet. Pricier than the Orcon tip.

I'm a puller not a pusher.

I hold the edge with my left hand up off the seam tape, and work the Orcon tip, while walking backwards.

I'm limber, so it isn't hard for me.

Something else I do is to leave the tip loose enough where I can turn it the opposite direction with my Leatherman. Sometimes I find it beneficial to be able to turn it the other way. I use the Orcon.
