Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
Did you watch any of the other videos. Kind of a joke I think.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
Has anybody out their actually used the PAM system on a jobsite? What would happen when I crank up my Roberts Senior on it? If it can stand that, I can see it as a valuable tool.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
PL Premium and a little spritz of water spray, just like Chemrex.
I have tried regular hot melt, and it is hit and miss. If the concrete is real cool, the glue stick doesn't bond. The glue cools off instantly and no bond. Other times, like rusty says, short pieces and it works.
Wasn't it SK that was hot melting wood flooring blocks to the cement to start the first rows of a gluedown off of.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
DJ you don't know Dave. The senior in his hands is like a tooth pick in ours. He missed his calling he should have been a guard or tackle on some NFL team. Now picture this we ere riding a shuttle bus together at an airport and he was sitting in an aisle seat. He wears a size 18 shoe and it is bright orange. Some lady tripped over his foot and then asked him if he could walkk on water with them?
So the senior to him is like a knee kicker to us.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
I'm like floorguy, PL Premium at $6.99 (big tube) at HD is cheaper that .14 foot. I also drill some too.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
I get the whole drilling thing. I would rathur drill and plug myself. However you cannot always do this when the basement has been waterproofed. You can plan for waterproofing through your detail though. This is when I use chemrex. Chemrex is hard to store on your truck though. Especially in Detroit where it gets cold in the winter. A glue stick system that works would be very benefical in a pinch. Like times when you tear out old carpet and that tackstrip that is down was installed incorrectly or just loose. A gluestick system is easy to store.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
Don't waste your money. It didn't work worth a shit!
Glued the commercial wide strip to the concrete. It didn't even hold on the set wall.

Scott, put it on E-Bay. You might even make a profit.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
I dunno, I used the Pam System today. Radiant heat floor,I was impressed, not 1 strip popped. And yes I use a power stretcher. I even tried to yank some loose....Stuck as good as using PL....without the wait.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
mmr6. ya know it may be the heat that could make the "setting" more permanent as most concrete is cold due to the ground just a thought.......again
