Gluing down Tackstrip
I was at the local supply store today and was introduced to a new tool. It is a glue stick system made by a company called PAM. The glue stick is a little wider and needs to be heated to a higher temp than other sticks so it comes with its own gun. If it works I could see benifits. Has anyone heard of this system? If so, then how did it work for you? The cost is around 80$ for the gun and .60 cents per stick.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
No, I was at Blakely. One stick does one piece of tackstrip. The way I figure it, it costs $.14 per foot to use Chemrex. This system costs $.15. So the cost is not much different. How it works makes a difference.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
I was doing a CFI thing in Minneapolis a few years ago when the manager of the store brought out a new glue gun for tackless. Only it used 2 sticks of hotmelt epoxy. Let me tell you it stuck. We ended up using a 2x4 to knock it off the floor. Is the one you saw like that?
By the way Dave how is the little one in the oven doing? Ol Dave is gonna be a poppa!!

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
I've used the Kool Glide glue sticks, but you have to cut the strip into short pieces. Otherwise the glue dries too fast.

Re: Gluing down Tackstrip
This is supposed to hold better than the koolglide stick. It is a brand new product.
Daris, apparently Kathy is no longer pissed at me, but I have to do everything around the house cause she's always tired. At least this time her craving is taco bell, I am gettin' fat too!

But then you have to wait a day to install Nick. Works good and is cost effective on large jobs.
I've seen the system but have not tried it yet. I do have a fairly large concrete job coming up that I may do some testing on.
Generally I do it like DJ and drill it if I can't get it to nail.

Never had a problem installing the same day Scott. even checked it with a crabjack the first time i used it .
It is probably because i'm so slow that by the time i have it stripped it has enough time to cure .

Doesn't show whether it holds good or not.
