Re: pole polishin no no's
What did you use for polish? The steel poles I use car wax. Makes them good for a couple of years.

Re: pole polishin no no's
For the inside of the tubes I pull a rag through with polish on it. Then do the same when dry to clean off the haze.

I've heard that silicon spray works well too.

Silicone seems to attract dirt.

Re: pole polishin no no's
What about high speed lubricants? The kind tyhat is used on router bits with bearing guides like laminate counter top flush trim bits. That lube has a different 'feel' to it and does not seem to gather dust or leave a noticeable residue.

Re: pole polishin no no's
We used to use triflow but I just use the cheapest silicon spray I can find. I wipe them down after I clean them and again before they go on carpet. I think I'll try the wax this next time. I use a gun cleaning rod to get the inside. This thread had me rolling when I first read it.
