What is your most favorite carpet knife to use. And what about straight edge. I have orcon bent carpet knifes.I am looking for the roberts adjustable straight edge but can't find anywhere. Orcon knifes are getting old where you put blade in is wore and the blades move to much.Just want to see what everybody else is using.
I use a Gundlach 720. There is no supply stores within 100 miles from here, so I buy blades, staples etc from Shagtools. They are always here within 3-4 days.

I use the same straight edge for carpet and vinyl. It's a Crain, I think. The one I see listed today comes painted blue and is called #334 6 ft. Proffesional Straight Edge. I bought mine before they started painting them blue so I've got to keep it dry or rust can get on it. My 4 footer is one of the blue ones.
I use Olfa utility knives for pad and vinyl due to their snap blades which provide instant sharp blades when needed and a slotted blade knife for cutting carpets. They are extremely sharp and will cut a thin slice of carpet if needed. I've found that for cutting a seam, there's nothing better.
I have been using these Personna knifes for a couple of years.
It holds 13 blades in the handle.
I used to like the older Roberts with the thumb screw.
The newer red ones suck.
As far as straight edge , I like the Crain combo edge (serpentine) with the rubber grip on one side.
