Re: Konecto

Do you have other area's that could be stopping the floor from moving? Like a ref, middle island or something else. I am sure you thught of that but to have a bubble there has to be something that is the root of the problem.

Re: Konecto

I wil try to create a picture of the bubble. The LR room is about 17 x 19 feet, patio door with a diagonal gas fire place across the corner to the right of the patio door, with a floor heat vent in between, along the wall. The planks run prependicular to the patio door. The bubble is parallel and 5 feet from the patio door and one end is about 4 feet from the fireplace. Now what I did I cauked along the fireplace brick face since it would be difficult to install a wood molding. Kenecto calls for 1/8 inch gap along its edge. Again, the bubble is not parallel with the firplace. The unit is vacant and heated during the winter. The caulking could be the problem, I haven't removed it at this time.

Re: Konecto

Mystery solved, had to lift the Kenecto flooring and found the 3/8 under layment was buckling due to the tight fit, not enough space in the seams. Seams looked good in February. I thank everyone who replied to my message and their help.

Re: Konecto

I am glad you found the concern and thanks for letting us know. Question, did you have to take it apart to find out and fix the 3/8 underlayment? If so how easy did it come apart?

Re: Konecto

To get to the underlayment, I removed my trim broads and heat register and rolled the flooring back ( 17 ft wide), use help, the flooring is heavy. I removed the 3/8 (4 x 8 ft) underlayment to cut and to check the flooring underneath, which was ok. I had to roll back about 7 feet. One prolem I had, was some of the ends came apart, where the roll was. I left it as is and when I rolled back, some of the end seams were slightly larger, but not really noticable and resealed with no problems. I had one long seam tear on me near the end and I replaced that panel, not a big problem just had to take my time and deal with the sticky edges. I have found during installing the flooring and had to take a seam apart and reseal, the seam looked ok and no problems.

Re: Konecto

I installed a new floor in February, the unit is empty, how can I eliminate the new smell? Being empty the doors and windows are closed. Is there a product I could use to wipe down the floor to reduce the ordor?

I am a Metroflor dealer, and we have been selling out of Konecto. I even installed prestige in my kitchen. The Prestige is the only one with aluminum oxide, and is definitely worth the few cents more as the country and the sierra plank score up easily, although those scores are easily buffed out and a commercial floor dressing can be used to make them wear better.

The flooring does not require underlayment. It is as quiet as a floor can be (much quieter than wood or laminate) and is completely water proof. It looks very real. My only visual concern is that there are too few patterns in the box and it is easy (when you search for it) to find repeats. Other than that, it looks more natural than most laminates on the market.

It's a wonderful product and will change your mind about PVC flooring.

Lisa

Hi Lisa,
I'm considering konecto Sierra product for my living room, hall and foyer. I'm concerned about the repeat patterns also. My question is this- Do you think it would be a good idea to purchase half of the product I need in the Susanville color and the other half in the Jackson color. On the Konecto website, the samples pictured of Susanville and Jackson look alike but slightly different colors. If I stagger the two different colors would that look good?? thanks, Donna

Re: Konecto

My husband and I just installed the Prestige Traditional in Foyer, closet, bathroom, Living room and dining room. It took us about 18 hrs but we had a lot of doorways, stairs, and walls. It is beautiful!! Our neighbors are very impressed and if I knew how to post pictures on this forum I would post them. My pommie got sick this morning and threw up all over on my new floor,it was no problem, damp paper towel and clean up was done. I remember when I had carpet I would have been on my hands and knees scrubbing it so it would not stain. We love our floor and so far we are very happy with it. I think I am going to do my second floor with it also. This floor is great for do it yourselfers. If you have pets, children or both then this is probably a great product for your family.

Re: Konecto

Some folks say to use the underlay while others say it isn't necessary. Would those of you in the know care to influence my thinking?

Re: Konecto

I've had Konecto installed over a concrete floor in my condo at the beach. It was installed by a flooring contractor. In the sunlight the butt ends of the planks have a distinct bulge. I am very unhappy with the appearance of the product.

Re: Konecto

We had "country" Konecto installed recently and I would NOT recommend this to anyone.
We have 3 young boys and 2 small dogs. This product gets opaque looking 'scuff' marks easily. I am used to ceramic tile floors and I would much rather have tile than this vinyl. It is even started to 'lift' in some areas and we constantly have to go back and push down.
We had them professionally installed also.
Invest your $ in tile!
