Re: Concerns about Konecto scuffing and glue residue

I laid this stuff a month ago and it does scuff, like laminate, but really no big deal. It is a floor . I bought one of those floor scuff pens at HD and the big scratches are unfindable after that. As far as the glue....so far so good. It looks great thus far.....we shall both see.

Re: Concerns about Konecto scuffing and glue residue

Konecto "Country" is, I believe, a 6 mil PVC wearlayer. I would try this on a scrap first, but scuffs in Pvc can very often be buffed out. Try Bon Ami polishing cleanser and a damp cloth.Generally circular motions, and fade out your touch as you get away from the scuff to blend in with the surrounding area. This works very well on scuffed sheet vinyl of this type, so I don't know why not on the planking. I know the top grade "Prestige" is a urethane with aluminum oxide, so first, scuffing shouldn't be as likely as with the Country. Secondly, NEVER buff a urethane finish. I am not certain as to the composition of mid grade "Sierra". I'll look it up and post back.

Re: Concerns about Konecto scuffing and glue residue

I double checked the Konecto website; Welcome to Konecto., and don't find the type of finish on the Sierra Line. I've been told it was a urethane and then I was tyold it was PVC, just twice as thick as on the country. I did see their maintenance instructions and they recommend using 0000 steel wool to buff or w/deep scratches, 000. they then talk of following up with acrylic finish.
