Looking for Konecto pictures AND opinions.

Hi everyone - first post, be gentle.

We are 99% sure we are putting Konecto Prestige vinyl planks in our entryway, DR and kitchen. It will be about 500' worth. Here are some quick facts about our situation:

- We live in a 1920's farmhouse and there is slight drifting in our floors
- We have 3 children and a cat and worry about the duribility of real wood
- We are putting this floor in our entryway and kitchen and worry about durabitly of floor in possible watery conditions (kitchen, slushy entryway in winter)
- We live in the NE and have cold winters/hot summers and are hoping the Konecto wouldn't contract/expand too much in the fluctuating temps (sometimes our house gets COLD)
- We are planning to DIY
- Our kitchen has a center island, hoping this won't pose a buckling problem

The Konecto option seems to address all of our issues. Any comments?

Also, I am looking for pictures of finished Konecto floors - does anyone have any??

Looking forward to your feedback.

Re: Looking for Konecto pictures AND opinions.

Hello,
My husband and I installed Konnecto in our kitchen/dining area. We love it and it was fairly easy to install. I do have a photo of the floor with my Granddaughter (the prettiest little girl in the world) sitting on the floor. We had a person come through and appraise our home after we updated the kitchen with the konnecto floor and she thought it was hard wood and listed it as so on the appraisal. We haven't had any problems at all and it's a year old now. It's easy to clean and we have kids, dogs, and a cat all over it! It's in a very high traffic area and it's holding up great. For us Konnecto was great investment and we may use it in a bathroom in the next couple of days.

Also, our house is also cold and this konnecto floor has taken away the chill.

Re: Looking for Konecto pictures AND opinions.

We bought Konecto Sierra Planks and are experiencing adhesive failure. The rep. said our home of 65 - 68 degrees is too cold. We installed on concrete and on an upstairs level of OSB wood. I have a more detailed post on this site to explain things better. Both levels have failed. Some have posted on other sites that an island on Konecto would not be a good idea. It is a floating floor and could be pinched down if the island is on top. One person even posted that their appliances were said to be too heavy and the problem of their Konecto failure. Konecto has not been good so far with taking the claim seriously and in fact has never even heard about my claim. I went through the proper channels of going first to the retailer and they called the rep. who did come to my house and that is where the ball dropped. Anyway my opinion is here for you to see and anyone else interested. It works for some and those it doesn't well it is a long long battle filled with frustration.

Not a good product in wet areas, the low end product scratches as you install it.

Why not get a independent inspector to check it out for you .. you got a hired gun report from a mill rep ..We have many inspectors on TFP that may be in your area ..
