My Konecto installation experience

I just put Konecto into a bathroom about a month ago in Chicago (January). I put down some cheap underlayment over existing tile with no leveling, etc. So far it has been fine. Reading the comments about coming apart had me modify the procedure, I used a heat gun on all the seams to heat it until it was warm to the touch, but not hot, and only once they were down and I was happy with them and then rolled them in the direction of the seam. I then rolled and rolled the floor in both directions when I was done. So far no problems and we have had a fair amount of temperature variance. I used a small hand roller and I did not put a lot of weight on it, but firm even pressure.

About cutting. Go get your table saw. It is the only way I found to get good straight edges. If you keep the plank moving it will not crumb or otherwise melt. I had one get stuck in between the blade and the guide and it behaved badly. But all the ones I planned out and kept moving came out great. The utility knife method is a nightmare.

Re: My Konecto installation experience

Square and utility knife and snap, your done. No getting up and down just go. You need to be sure to put your weight on top of that small roller not just firm pressure. A motel job failed here and it was the installers fault as they didn't roll it like that.
