Are you having trouble with the site?
We moved to a new server last yesterday and there were problems I couldn't have anticipated. I called on tech support for the new server and the forum software and they all assure me everything is doing good now.
Please report any problems that you are having with the site here in this topic. Let me know what error messages you get, or what the circumstances of your problem is. If you aren't specific, I might not be able to track down a solution. If you tell me what time the problem happened, please tell me your time zone. If you were clicking on a link, tell me what link and where it was supposed to go. If you were trying to open a page, tell me what page.
You get the idea. Details help.
Thanks,
T

It'll take a couple days for the problem to get down there Jon.

Re: Are you having trouble with the site?
Well, it does seem a little slower for me than usual. But there are quite a few tweaks available that we never could do on the other server. I'll be putting in a request to a server specialist to advise me on specific things. I hope that will improve the response time for everyone.

Re: Are you having trouble with the site?
Got this message about three times a little while ago but may have been a fluke.
SERVER NOT FOUND
Firefox can't find the server at www.thefloorpro.com.* Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of Example Web Page
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I use a shortcut on my desktop to come here so I know I didn't mis-type anything.
I now also think the pages are changing slightly slower than before.
Hey - I'm just sayin'...

Re: Are you having trouble with the site?
I also think pages are a bit slower, but not all the time.
That message you got is the same one I have gotten. But mine usually comes when my Internet connection goes off momentarily.
The best suggestion I can give to anyone who is having intermittent problems is to empty your Temporary Internet Files or your browser cache. That way, files for this site that are associated with our old server will be dumped and all new files will populate your cache - all from the new server. When you load a page here, you are actually loading about 100 files and other objects (other objects include scripts and background images) and all of these are in your browser's cache and point to our website. But that pointer could be aimed at our old IP address, which is what the actual address is of every website - the name, like TheFloorPro.com, is just an alias.
So, flush your cache and you MIGHT see a difference. I'll keep working on tweaking the new server for the best performance.

OH BOY! As much as I hate to ask this I will anyway:
So ah-er-a-umh-a
where do I go to clear that there kinda stuff a um like Temporary Internet Files and Cache?
OK I'm gonna click my mouse now and send this message and that will pretty much use up most of my knowledge about this machine right there.

Re: Are you having trouble with the site?
Start-Control Panel-Internet options-delete files-settings-view files
On the last one, I just remove the latest files(cookies) so my passwords etc don't have to be re-entered

Re: Are you having trouble with the site?
For those using IE:
Click on Tools > Internet Options
On the General tab, see Browsing History and click Delete...
In the area marked Temporary Internet Files, click Delete files... > Yes
A small box will appear that lets you know it is deleting files. When it's done, click Close > OK
For those using FireFox:
Click on Tools
Make sure there is a check mark in Cache (remove the check mark in anything else you do NOT want to erase) and click Clear Private Data Now.
That's all there is to it. Pages will load a bit slower on all sites until you build the cache back up again.
