Picture Attachments

Trying to start a thread and a new window is popping up in the attachment menu. States I have exceeded my quota. Do I need to go and delete attachments from previous posts?

Re: Picture Attachments

I tried too and got the same message. Maybe Admin is mad at us

He'll be along shortly to bail us out, as usual.

Re: Picture Attachments

I had the same thing happen as well. I had to delete most of my pics to post one.

Re: Picture Attachments

Well, I checked and you guys have unlimited space to upload. There is a file size limit and a dimensional limit, but the system doesn't seem to enforce that consistently. I just got this error before I uploaded the last image above:
tc2001-0327_l.jpg:
Your file of 251.1 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 146.5 KB for this filetype.
The image above was even larger than that, but the system also resized it, which I didn't know it would do. I will check into it further.

PLEASE do NOT delete your old images. They may be old to you, but people viewing these old topics will wonder what happened and be very disappointed. I will check and see if I can root out the problem. You're welcome to send any pictures to me via email and I'll add them to your posts until we get this sorted out. This is the first I have heard of any problem.

Re: Picture Attachments

I reset all the upload permissions and even increased the size limits. Please try to upload again and let me know if there is a problem. You can also email or phone me if that is more convenient for you.

Re: Picture Attachments

Tell me when you began deleting them and I'll try. I do file system backups regularly, so I know I have all the pictures, but I don't know if they will end up back in your posts. Can't hurt to try though.

Re: Picture Attachments

OK, I'll do the upload tonight while I sleep. I can't just pick out the ones you deleted. I have to do the whole attachments folder, which is a couple hundred MB. Uploads take longer than downloads and that size will take a while - and cause my surfing to slow to a crawl while it happens. Can't have that.
