last visited times?

Sometimes I log in to the website and it says my last visit was at a time I know I was not here. To my knowledge no posts are made when I see the random last visit time, but otherwise the last visit time is correct, for example, I logged on around 12:52pm today which is correct, but when I logged in at 12:52, it said my last visit was at 6:?? something am. I have noticed this before, loggin on in the afternoon and seeing a last visit time of 5am etc, when I know i was not here..

Has anyone else noticed this, am I insane?, is it a server issue, etc?

If there is a log of a users sign on times, is it possible to check the IP address of the logins?

I don't understand that either. I checked in a 1:14, then when I checked in again at 1:16, it told me I had last visited at 4:50.p.m.

Chris, I only live about 90 miles from you. I worked for Carpet Corner back in the 80's. I did a lot of work in Olathe.

Re: last visited times?

There are settings that the member can control. I wonder if that is where the confusion lies?

In the upper right hand corner of this page is "USER CP" under your name, go there.

Then on the left side of that page is "EDIT OPTIONS", go there.

Scroll down to "DATE & TIME OPTIONS". Within that label is "TIME ZONE".

Check to see if that is set correctly for your location. Maybe that's the problem.

Re: last visited times?

It isn't that, because in many cases my last visited time is correct, it is only on random occassions it is completely whacko....

Re: last visited times?

I was here a couple hours ago, but it says, "You last visited: Today at 06:01 AM." I don't know why it does that. No, there's no log kept of member visits. Yes, I can check IP addresses when a member is here, but it's not possible to see what their IP was the last time they visited, unless they have posted a message at that time.

It might be a server thing. Our server is in Texas. The website time is set to Pacific time zone (because I live in CA). The post times you see can be set in your own preferences, as Bud said. But I don't know if any of those have anything to do with this issue.

I'll ask on the forum software support forum about the "last visited" discrepancy. I'll let you know what they say.

Re: last visited times?

Could mine be affected by the fact that I never log out?

I don't know. Most people never log out. It's not even necessary, unless you use a public or shared computer.

Re: last visited times?

Part of my last visited time mystery has been solved. Once in a while i use my fiances computer to check the website, I saved my password on her computer. I guess she saw the link and that my username and password were saved, so she checks in to make sure I am playing 'nice' with the other 'carpet' people. But that only solves part of the mystery....

Yeah, that's what she's checking on you for. Yeah.
