I did that and it took me to a pop up. Can't remember what it said, though.
I now have a problem with the "Forum tools" button. It does nothing when I click on it. I use to use it to mark all post as read.

Re: Problems with the new design
The popup prob'ly said there were no new posts since your last visit. S'posed to anyway. It's not really a popup, it's a page with a real small panel that says that. The page has a slightly different background than this one - no side panel on it.
I been pullin' my hair out over that Forum Tools selector and the ones next to it. I have a support request for it, but no answer yet. I'm trying to figure it out for myself in the mean time, but I don't know anything about javascript - and I didn't code it. I keep thinking it was some of the code I used in the design and layout that might have screwed with the rendering of the javascript.
Slowly but surely, it will all get fixed. This is real difficult because the forum theme can only be tested on a live setup. The old theme wouldn't have worked on the newer forum software and I couldn't test the new theme except on the older software. I'm actually pretty surprised there have been so few real glitches after hearing what some other designers have gone through.

Can't seem to edit my signature.
#1. I delete it and it is still there. I revise it and the revision comes up in the preview but when I close the edited version the old version is still there.
No big deal and no hurry, but thought you would want to look into it.
#2. Without me changing anything the TFP Forum more-than fills my page. I must move left or right to see the whole page. I can reduce it on my end but my next option downward is 75%. That makes it too small for my liking and difficult to read in some areas.
Again, not a big deal.

My testing shows it works - if you click the "Save Signature" button. Once you click that button, you don't have to close the Edit Signature window, it does it for you.

"More-than fills my page", but I gotta know what size page you have. What is your screen resolution? Do you open the browser full-screen, or reduce it to have space on any side of the browser when it's open?
I design and test for a browser viewport of at least 1024. Very few people have 800x600 monitors anymore, or set their to that size. A few do, but very few. Designing this forum (or any website that is fluid - reduces or expands to fit the size you use) for such a small monitor would limit the functions and features of the site, or just make it look butt ugly. TFP is designed for 1024, but it will go down to about 980 without a horizontal scroll bar.
As Arnie said in Terminator 3, I need more dTetailed information.

That's what I thought, that's what I did, it's the only option. Seems to be working now, you were just trickin' me.

I knew you'd say that but I don't remember where to find that info so until you clue me in the delay is in your court.

Re: Problems with the new design
On the open area of your monitor's desktop, right-click and select Properties. Then you will see a Settings tab and see what your resolution is. Now, do you open your web browser full screen, or do you make it smaller than the allowable screen space?

Re: Problems with the new design
I don't know how you could have to scroll left or right to see any pages here with that resolution. Can you do a screen capture and upload it here? While in the browser, press the Alt and PRTSC keys together, open your preferred image editing program to a new window (everyone has Paint), press the CTRL and V keys together and then save the image as a gif, jpg or bmp file. Upload it when you reply back.
What version of Windows? What version and brand of browser? Are you holding your face right?

Re: Problems with the new design
One of the other forums changed formats and lost all the old posts. That isn't going to happen here, is it?
Just an old, worn out, part time, crapet layer.

Re: Problems with the new design
Nope. I do a database backup every 2 hours and a folders and files backup every day - it's all automatic and securely held off the server path, in addition to keeping backups on my own computer. We had one breech of security a couple years ago and we lost only 2 hours of data.
FlooringInstaller.com has decided to use another obscure forum script and neither one, old or new, has a way to import or export data from the other. It's unfortunate. Steve could have gone to another, more popular, forum script and they offer similar hosting and management contracts, but they also have a script to import data from the fi.com forum (I think). Coulda, woulda, shoulda, I guess it's unimportant. I do hate to see any website with quality content drop off the edge of the ether. I know Steve will resurrect the forum, but it will be missing some good stuff (and some bad stuff, but that comes with the territory).
Sorry to get off track... no, we will not lose any data. I hope my security measures and management skills will keep TFP on solid ground for many years to come, even when it's time for me to go.

Re: Problems with the new design
The bad news is it only works when there is only one page of listed threads or one page of listed replies or the side panel is gone. The side panel is the biggest new feature and an integral part of the design, so I am seeking support from the software developers of the forum software and the content management system that we are now integrating into the forum (before it was just on all the non-forum pages of the site). It's a busy time for them and they haven't helped me find a solution yet, but one or both of them will.
