Re: Problems with the new design

Bud,

That image is only 874 pixels wide, but my avatar is 100 pixels wide (yours is 100px high - the avatar size for both of us is an actual 100x100 maximum), which means the picture is actual size. You told me in a PM that your resolution was at 1024, so that means the browser window isn't open full-screen. Click the middle button in the upper-right corner of your browser to open full-screen and see if the scroll bar goes away.

Since your messages this morning, I have gone into the system and changed the format of the info on the right side in each post. Location, Join date and all of that has been changed. The identifier is now smaller type and the info breaks to the line under it. That should prevent any of that info from forcing a scroll bar.

Try this: instead of holding down the Alt key when making a screen capture, press only the PrtSc key and then paste it into Paint, save and upload that image.

Thanks,

Jim
PS: Lo, you have a 800x600 screen resolution, right? A small monitor like only 17" or 15" diagonal?

Yeaaaaa right........ I wish!
(yes, a 600 by 800, but a 17 incher would be like a freekin' theater screen to me. )
13 is probably closer.
I'm OK T, don't worry bout Lo. It's workin' , just takin time to get used to the navigation and change in graphics.

Re: Problems with the new design

If you go into a forum and see there are no messages you want to view, so I click on forum tools and scroll down to mark forum as read. Then I go to the floor pro community at the top, when the forums reappear, the new post count, does not go down, like it use to before the design change.

That is why, when there are no forums highlighted for new messages, it still says there are new messages under my icon on the left pane.

Re: Problems with the new design

Thanks for letting me know about that, Floorguy. I did some testing and see that the problem is in the code of that module's core files. I will have to get support for that from the program developer.

R'gards,

Jim

Re: Problems with the new design

Just encountered the issue with the text box being larger than my screen. I have a 22 inch HD widescreen LCD. It happened on page 2 of the vinyl installation tool??? thread.

Re: Problems with the new design

I quit using the old dinosaur(windows 98) because with the new design, I can only see 1/4 page at a time. The print looks smaller this morning on my Vista.

Just an old, worn out, part time, crapet layer.

That happened because your browser, prob'ly Firefox, still doesn't know how to handle line breaks when the number of typed characters without a space exceeds the width of the viewport (browser width). We can blame Daris for that - he typed a whole bunch of dashes and no spaces. I thought about banning his ass for that, but I don't wanna hurt the old guy's feelings so soon into the New Year. Besides, he then posted a valuable resource in the patent search website, but don't tell him about that. We don't want his head to get all big an' stuff.

I would bet it wasn't Windows 98 that was the problem, but the monitor and/or screen resolution you were using.

As for the smaller print, take an asp'rin and unsquint your eyes. I know it's the New Year an' all, but celebrations shoulda ended a day or two ago. Either that or you have somehow changed the View | Text Size settings of your browser.

The print does look normal when I'm not looking thru a beer bottle.

What do you mean, Daris? What exactly is happening? Nothing has changed. Describe what you are doing and what you see.

Re: Problems with the new design

right now when I am viewing the screen with my favorites going down the left side I can view everything with the exception of the emoticons. When I was on this thread before I couldn't do that.
Maybe I'm just screwed up but it seems to be different in size. I've made no changes to the compuer. Shh!! I don't know how.

Re: Problems with the new design

You really shouldn't have the Favorites panel open all the time, Daris. It takes up way too much room and it so easy to click the star to get it to drop down and select the site you want to go to next. If you are using a 1024x768 screen resolution, it's even worse - you'll have a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of every page of the site. Close the Favorites panel and the scroll bar goes away. Try it. It shouldn't be too hard to get used to only clicking the star when you need it.
