how come a lot of you members here do not contribute/donate/support? just a few dollars helps this site is worth more with information/friends than money.its like a club or bar you pay for that don't ya? i myself would proudly pay for a yearly member ship here as i do in all of my other clubs which are around $45.00 a year just curious

I really do appreciate your concern, DJ. And I thank you very much for being a supporting member. You are actually one of among 35 members who have donated money or contest prizes in the 3 years we have been online. Some have donated a couple dollars, others several hundred since May 2006. One member has donated every month for many months now. Every single donation is appreciated and this site would have had to be closed more than a year ago because of escallating costs. But the donations trickle in and the Google ads have also helped, so we will remain live for a long time to come, I hope.
But this is kind of a touchy subject, as you may have noticed with the high view count and no replies. It makes everyone nervous to talk about money. And there is always going to be a lot of members on any forum that think it should all be free all the time. You can hardly blame them. I don't know any flooring forums that charge or has a special membership that gets to pay to see certain content. There are some other types of forums that do that, but I don't see it ever happening here.
That's not to say some things on this site won't come with a price. The directory that is just now getting started will have a fee attached to it at some point. But it will be very reasonable - prob'ly cheaper by a long shot than a phone book ad or an ad in the paper. That won't happen for any current member for at least a year though. I think it's a great way to get it going and to thank the people who have made The Floor Pro Community what it is today.
I like where your heart is though. Just don't be too disappointed if this topic doesn't get much response. I was surprised to see it this afternoon. It always bothers me to ask for help and it was especially hard to write that Support TFP module on the left sidebar yesterday. But it did result in a donation - and from someone who hadn't donated before.
